A brilliant yellow kaleidoscope/mandala image created from a Salamis Parhassus butterfly wing. This butterfly is from Africa, and is also known as Forest Mother of Pearl. Original wing image captured with a flatbed scanner, and sliced up/rearranged in Photoshop.

Welcome! I'm a photographer currently living in northwest Iowa, but soon to be moving to Cody, Wyoming where my emphasis will be Victorian and Old West imagery. My portfolio is pretty mixed at the moment. I've been trying some different things like using a flatbed scanner to create macro images instead of a camera, adding textures to images with pen and ink stippling, and using the program Apophysis to experiment with fractal patterns.
