Artist's Description
Three California garden snails, from the bottom. Check out the fellow in the middle with the buck teeth. =)
"It was a quiet cafe in Orleans, France
where we held our midnight rendezvous,
conspiring pour la resistance
It seemed like something Woody Allen would do,
talking politics, ethics, animal rights
one fateful night long ago.
The mood like the food we kept it light
till someone ordered escargot.
How sad for the snails, I cried woefully
shedding tears on my brioche.
To have given up their lives needlessly
for the bourgeoisie, how gauche...."

About Janeen Wassink Searles
Welcome! I'm a photographer currently living in northwest Iowa, but soon to be moving to Cody, Wyoming where my emphasis will be Victorian and Old West imagery. My portfolio is pretty mixed at the moment. I've been trying some different things like using a flatbed scanner to create macro images instead of a camera, adding textures to images with pen and ink stippling, and using the program Apophysis to experiment with fractal patterns. I also have a couple of images in there that were taken with vintage cameras from my collection. Thanks for visiting!

Hi Janeen...I like your image. A novel point of view and you have achieved a unique image. Well lit and well photographed...Cheers Bob

I used a scanner to capture this one. The image could have been bigger if the scanner could scan faster at a higher resolution, unfortunately when I tried, the scanner recorded wierd color blocks where the snails moved. don't you just love the fellow in the middle with buck teeth?
