Artist's Description
This image is not quite what it seems. The image was created from underneath the spider, not from the top. My pet Chilean rose tarantula (Ned) was not on its back, but sitting on a flatbed scanner and then covered with an antique Victorian silverplated etched tray with a raised lip. The little creature seemed quite comfortable. Very high quality image ~ check out the high resolution preview!
About Janeen Wassink Searles
Welcome! I'm a photographer currently living in northwest Iowa, but soon to be moving to Cody, Wyoming where my emphasis will be Victorian and Old West imagery. My portfolio is pretty mixed at the moment. I've been trying some different things like using a flatbed scanner to create macro images instead of a camera, adding textures to images with pen and ink stippling, and using the program Apophysis to experiment with fractal patterns. I also have a couple of images in there that were taken with vintage cameras from my collection. Thanks for visiting!
