Artist's Description
A beautiful symmetrical fractal, a golden flower exploding with energy. Created in Apophysis and Photoshop. I named this boho-type piece "Gypsy that I was" because I lived in several different states over the course of a decade, including 3 months living in the back of a minivan in Wyoming. Pretty nomadic. A gypsy I was, and a gypsy I perhaps will be again one day.
"So I'm back to the velvet underground,
back to the floor that I love,
to a room with some lace and paper flowers,
Back to the gypsy that I was"
~ Stevie Nicks
About Janeen Wassink Searles
Welcome! I'm a photographer currently living in northwest Iowa, but soon to be moving to Cody, Wyoming where my emphasis will be Victorian and Old West imagery. My portfolio is pretty mixed at the moment. I've been trying some different things like using a flatbed scanner to create macro images instead of a camera, adding textures to images with pen and ink stippling, and using the program Apophysis to experiment with fractal patterns. I also have a couple of images in there that were taken with vintage cameras from my collection. Thanks for visiting!
